Job/Training Opportunity for Students and Young Professionals

String Musician/Teacher/Productions Assistant

 

Whispering River Music is excitedly accepting resumes for our 2023 Community Musicians-In-Training Program! Students and individuals ages 15 - 30 pursuing a career in music and/or music education are invited to work in a supportive, flexible, exciting atmosphere and receive unique educational training while developing valuable professional connections relating to their future careers as artists and educators. 

 

Taking place in Parry Sound, accepted participants will work for 8 weeks facilitating educational workshops, private music lessons, and the Whispering River Music Day Camp, a music/arts/theater camp for the community. They will also have many performing opportunities including orchestral concerts with Parry Sound’s community orchestra, Whispering River Orchestra. 

 

Participants will regularly receive opportunities to work alongside outstanding professionals from creative and educational fields, gaining hands-on experience relating to their future careers and finding many opportunities to develop lasting professional connections.

 

Job Dates: 8 weeks total

  • June 1st - July 19th

  • Aug 28th - Sept 4th

  • Job dates are flexible especially for high school students to accommodate their school schedule in June. Applicants who are interested in the job can speak to Brenda Muller at 905-960-9281 to learn more.

 

Hourly From: $15.75/h, approximately $4,500 total
