Making Music Together

Beginner Strings

All ages: Mondays 7pm

Interested in trying a new instrument or a new life experience? All ages welcome to join the Whispering River Orchestra's Beginner strings class for all ages and abilities!  Introductory level music and techniques will be covered in this class.

Intermediate Strings

All ages: Thursdays 7 pm

Do you have some experience with string instruments? Join the Whispering River Orchestra's Intermediate strings class!  We will provide a review of basic techniques and teach you more advanced ones in a happy, supportive environment.

Advanced Strings

All ages: Wednesdays 7 pm

Looking for a musical adventure?  Master works of the string repertoire will be studied in this class, along with commissioned works by Canadian composers. More challenging music and techniques will be covered.

Music Moppets

Using Orff -Schulwerk Approach, children learn about concepts such as beat, rhythm, melody, harmony and improvisation through song, dance, musical games and body percussion exercises.

Strings Pals

All ages: Wednesdays 4pm

The perfect place for children to start learning how to play violin, viola, cello, or double bass! This group class teaches students the basics of playing and caring for stringed instruments, introduces and furthers their knowledge of music theory, including reading music notation, and helps them develop critical communication skills by learning and performing with a group.
